A-to-Z List Essential Oils for Burns:
The following essential oils may be helpful for treating small or minor (particularly first-degree) burns:
When treating burns with essential oils never apply pure, undiluted essential oils directly to burns as they can exacerbate burns or cause inflammation and pain.
One way to address very recent burns is to use a simple compress by adding 5 drops, of your chosen, essential oil(s) to 1 cup of warm water. Then shake the oil water, soak a clean cloth and apply, repeating until the water for the compress is gone. Apply daily until the wound begins to heal.
Another methods is to use a moisturizing product or carrier oil with your choice of essential oils. This approach is best for burns that are already healing. After inflammation has subsided, mix 5 drop your selection of essential oils for every ounce of lotion or carrier oil (e.g., olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, jojoba oil, or sunflower oil). Apply your mixture straight to the healing burn until it goes away.
